Aston Martin - Rapide S

This project was created and directed by me for our family friend's uncle. It truly involved many other skills I did for my other projects but this one was like a white canvas on which I was allowed to paint whatever I suggested, he is a devoted fan of the James Bond saga who had always dreamed of owning an Aston Martin. Due to the limited availability of such iconic British cars in the Russian market, he managed to find one with low mileage, a well-maintained body, and a captivating blue interior that won his heart. Originally purchased in white, he immediately sought to replace the "boring" tone, as he's a strong advocate against neutral colors like white or black. On the very day he bought it, we sourced and applied an ocean blue wrap to transform the car.

Part #2

Once my uncle was satisfied with the initial adjustments, he decided to take the car out of the workshop and enjoy driving it for the remaining summer months. Over the course of four months, I had time to research additional upgrades we could make. When I finally had the chance to drive it myself, I realized how inconvenient it was without sensors or cameras. Given that vehicles like the Nissan Elgrand and Infiniti EX were among the first to feature this technology, and considering the Aston Martin Rapide S was manufactured from 2013 to 2021, I thought, why not add it? BGT Detailing agreed to help us with the upgrade on a barter arrangement, provided we filmed the process and allowed them to showcase it on their media platforms—a deal we happily accepted.

Part #3

The third step I focused on was the car carpets. Original replacements cost around $500 on eBay, so instead of refurbishing the existing ones, I decided to create fully custom-made carpets from scratch, using the original measurements as a reference. The sampling process took some time. We started with a paper prototype to finalize the design, and once approved, I proceeded to create the first leather sample. To minimize costs, we kept the sample plain, without adding any colors, as the main goal was to test the quality and ensure the stitching was precise.

After refining the design and ensuring the first sample met our standards, we moved on to the final version. Matching the original leather color proved challenging, but I’m confident we achieved it. The final design featured a rhombus-shaped pattern as the main background, with an additional layer of Art Deco-inspired lines on the driver’s and front passengers carpet for added texture and depth.
