Aston Martin - 007 (Frankenstein Edition)

Part #1 - Brainstorming

After nearly a year-long break working on another project, I received a photo of the beloved Aston Martin involved in a car accident. The collision severely reshaped the front bumper and frunk and broke one of the headlights. Unfortunately, headlights for this model weren’t sold separately, and the grills and frunk were nearly impossible to source within Russia. This left us with the only option of ordering from the UK, which would have incurred unnecessary extra costs.

To address the situation, I proposed a complete redesign of the car's front end, using the customer’s favorite Aston Martin model as a reference. The choice ultimately landed on the Aston Martin Zagato. While visiting the UK, the customer had the opportunity to see a Zagato in person and take some quick measurements. He also attempted to request a quote for the headlights but was denied due to the strict policy of selling parts only to owners. However, through networking, we managed to connect with a Zagato owner and successfully acquired both the headlights and grills. From there, all that remained was constructing a base to fit these components seamlessly.

Part #2 - Plasticine

After some scketching, i came up with ideal design for the digital designers, that put my thoughts and my sketches into a well scaled prototype.

With the help of BGT Wokshop and Zagato owner in UK, we were able to come up with digital version of concept.

After fixing the frunk we started reshapping the whole front, I didn’t know anything about the process however, I wanted to learn a little + whenever I work on something, I prefer to be in the hotspot of the action so there wouldn’t be any lacking from the workers. When there is a feeling that someone is watching, the result come up much more effectively, so visiting twice a week saves my customers time and money.

Part #3 - Final Touches

Big thanks to Imperial Tuning team with helping us to put the project together and turn our creation into reality.

It took 8 months of work and constant reviewing to make this project work, definitely one of the longest I was ever involved it but surely was one of the most interesting experiences.
